ROSALLIE AT NIGHT Brett Dault J ust over a year ago, a lovely French café and bistro graced the downtown WG scene to the delight of locals and visitors alike. With sumptuous bakeries, amazing quiche and sandwiches, and some of the best coffee in town, Rosallie Le French Café tantalizes their guests’ tastebuds. Owner Jonathan Pluvinet, who moved to the area in early 2017, noticed Winter Garden has a scarce commodity of French wine. “I would like to introduce the delicacy of the best French wines in a great environment,” Jonathan commented, to which I assured him we would all very much enjoy. A recently added offering, Rosallie now carries some of the finest French wines – Whites, Sparkling, Red and Rosé. Various wines are available by the bottle or the glass – and even by the case. While they keep quite a bit of wine on hand, there are also thousands more to choose from and special order. During our talk, we chatted about the Going Gold events during the month of September, and the Fabulous & Fearless Families whose stories we’ve shared within this issue – all in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This piqued Jonathan’s interest, and I was touched to learn even more about this champion skiier turned entreprenuer. 42  | WINTER GARDEN MAGAZINE | SEPTEMBER 2018 Jonathan has survived cancer twice – once at the age of 23 and again at 27. He now has two children, and as a father reminiscing on his own experiences, he holds this cause very close to heart. And then was born a ideal: host an event sharing the wonders of French wine, coupling them with amazing cheese and other hors d’oeuvres, and do it all in the name of raising funds for an amazingly good cause. And thus, Rosallie at Night was born. Well, re-born...in a sense. Jonathan has previously successfully hosted Rosallie at Night events at his Las Vegas location, through both fund raising events and private parties. And if the turn out and reception of the Winter Garden event is a good one, it’s possible this might become a monthly staple on the events calendar – and one that makes for a great date night! 100% of the net profit from the October 5th event will be donated to Childhood Cancer Awareness & Research.
