Invitation to Write L isten up Winter Garden because you are cordially invited to my journalistic world! I’m on the hunt for bright minds and sharp writers so send in their shining masterpieces of the written word. If you have letters and sentences buzzing around your skull, type them out and send them to me. Ever since I was in fourth grade, I knew I would be a writer someday. I felt an instant connection and comfort in the art but I never saw myself writing for a magazine. It wasn’t until I reluctantly signed up for a journalism class my freshmen year of high school that a path sprouted up before me. After writing several articles and having them published, I realized being a writer for a magazine is one of the best jobs a busy and bustling mind like mine could have. Writing in this manner has kept me informed more than ever before. Since research is so vital in the process, I’m constantly discovering more about our government, our environment, and our very own world. I have had so many post-it notes of knowledge stick to my brain by writing articles and I am confident that they will accompany me when I become a full functioning adult. Having an opinion in today’s society is similar to having a bomb strapped to your chest. It’s impossible to ignore and it could cause an explosion at any moment.
