Our Paint-A-Memory classes allow people
experiencing memory loss due to
Alzheimer’s & Dementia to improve
cognitive function through a relaxing and
practical painting class. They have the
possibility of expressing and conveying
their emotions in a new way after having
lost the ability to do so perhaps verbally or
though cohesive brain function.
Our classes and workshops provide artists
of all abilities the opportunity to learn new
skills or enhance their practice. Our
weekly life drawing sessions provide
artists with the ability to draw from life and
interact with other artists. With our
encouragement some of these students
even go on to become teachers
themselves so that their skills are shared
with the community. Our lectures provide
informative and thought provoking
opportunities for people to come together
and learn.
SOBO is far more than a museum. It’s a
place where the community comes
together to learn, express, create and
grow.
The Winter Garden Art Association came
into being as a result of locals who
dedicated their time and resources into
creating a non-profit organization that is
largely volunteer led. It’s built by the
community, for the community. Our
organization was established five years
ago and has grown immensely since it’s
inception. November 8th will mark a major
milestone for SOBO. In honor of our
gallery celebrating its fifth anniversary and
existing in a converted historical fire
house, we are bringing back our very first
art exhibit titled “Artists on Fire”. A
fundraising party is being held on
November 7th to celebrate this milestone
and help raise funds to expand our
programming. On November 8th we
unveil our last exhibition for the year,
“Artists on Fire - Rekindled”. All our art
openings are free and open to everyone
in the community. A place where the
community can come and enjoy beautiful
artwork created by locals and with a
common goal to serve and make our
community a better place for everyone.

the fire of art alight within downtown
Winter Garden.
