MAKING A DIFFERENCE
IN BREAST CANCER
Thinking you can do nothing to help solve this nasty
diagnosis, think again. Volunteering efforts are the
hub of opportunity in making a difference. Beating
breast cancer is more than research and development
of pharmaceuticals to wipe out this deadly illness, it
is taking the initiative to give assistance to the women
who battle it annually. Volunteering is available in
many facets, and each minute dedicated to serving
breast cancer patients is welcomed. A few minutes to
promote events on social media, like Making Strides
Against Breast Cancer, or Relay for Life opens the
door to increased awareness, and funds the many
programs needed to care for patients. Volunteer
participation strengthens the network for individuals
in need, and provides hope when the lights have gone
dim in the face of breast cancer as health hangs in
the balance. The last thing a patient needs is the fear
of being unable to financially afford treatments, or
even having a place to stay if she is far from treatment
centers. Offer the shoulder in which patients can lean
upon, in any capacity, to pave the road to recovery.
