National Teacher’s Month gives us all the opportunity to show how much we appreciate the hard
work that goes into being a teacher. Teaching our youth takes a lot of patience and understanding,
especially when students aren’t always would rather be playing outside on a beautiful day. Add in
that different students learn in different ways, and our teachers have their work cut out for them.
Organizations can show how much the teachers mean in their community by placing
an ad in a local magazine, or even placing a banner outside the business thanking
teachers for their hard work. As individuals, there aVre many ways that we can
all show teachers how much we appreciate them. Some ideas include a gift card
to their favorite coffee-shop, a heart-felt card with a note from your student, a
small plant that will brighten their classroom, or a home-made treat such as
cookies. Something as simple as a heart-felt thank you and smile when greeting
teachers in the morning is greatly appreciated. Remember, it’s the thought that
counts, so show our teachers how much they mean to all of us and our students!
