BUSINESS PROFILE
next—to create comprehensive whole, and
ultimately, rich emotional connections.
They developed a relationship with Kennedy
Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL, and in
2012, they launched Audacious Vision – a
tour that not only tells the story of America’s
impressive past, but also shows the listener
NASA’s vision for the future. And last year,
they re-purposed the tour to be hosted
on a mobile media device with AR, 360°
photos, beacon triggering, GPS triggering,
Video, and more. The new tour is the most
advanced mobile media tour in the world.
And as these tours continue to expand to
include more types of media, they’ve kept
their focus on mobile. They’re doing a lot
more consulting, program design, and project
management on both interpretive and audio
described projects. Doing the productions
is still Stasha & Mike’s number one love,
but providing expertise, oversight, and
guidance is becoming a larger role for them.
While sitting in a cozy conversation area in
their lovely, self-renovated historic home
near Lake Apopka, we asked the duo what
has been their most rewarding experience
with Q Media. While working with narrators
such as famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse
Tyson may top the list, their true “jewel in
the crown” has been learning and conveying
the stories of the residents and enslaved
people of Kingsley Plantation in Jacksonville,
Florida. They were presented with the
challenge to “bring silenced voices back to
life” all while providing the listener with
an accurate – though thoroughly unusual
– understanding of this specific time and
place. The one-hour tour includes primary
narration and multiple character voices.
The “characters” are composites, developed
and based on known stories and facts of
the actual men and women enslaved on
the Kingsley Plantation. Listening as Stasha
gave us the background of this tour was
incredibly compelling, so it’s no wonder
they were awarded 1st Place in the Digital
Media Category by the National Association
for Interpretation for their production of
the challenging and complicated subject.
Another aspect they’re particularly
proud of is their venture into developing
