SUMMER
W
ith the summer months
approaching us, it is time to get
prepared for all the exciting activities that a summer in Central
Florida has to offer. With summer
officially beginning on June 21,
2014 there is a lot to look forward
to, whether you might have a trip
planned to the beach for the weekend or a barbeque backyard party
with the family, there is definitely
something that summer 2014 has to
offer you.
I am sure that many of you are
looking forward to planning your
summer activities around the kids
since they are out of school for
about three months. Look at this
as an opportunity to spend quality time with them, and take the
chance to possibly do something
that they have never done before.
Here is a list of exceptional
activities that can be done in your
backyard of Central Florida.
-
Airboat Adventures on the
St. Johns River
-
Deep Sea Fishing at Port
Canaveral
-
Bike Ride on the West
Orange Trail in Downtown Winter
Garden
-
Tubing at Wekiva Springs
-
Disc Golf at Bill Fredrick Park
-
Eco Tour on the Dora Canal in Mt.
Dora
-
Hang Gliding at Quest Air in
Groveland
-
Horse Back Riding at Crown
Pointe Equestrian in Winter Garden
-
Kiteboarding at Cocoa Beach
-
Paddle Boarding & Wind Surfing
at Kelly Park in Cocoa Beach
-
Petting Zoo at Green Meadows
Farm in Kissimmee
On top of your typical lake day or camp
out in the backyard with the kids, these
ideas should get you going on a summer
full of fun. There is fun to be had with
adults and children of all ages when it
comes to activities like these. If I could
offer some advice, it would be to spread
your plans out and not try to cram everything together in the beginning of summer
vacation. Children will get bored and
overwhelmed, and then you will be
scrambling on new ideas to come up with.
To add, do not forget a few key
ingredients to your summer recipe; lots
of water, sunscreen, the camera, and of
course, a big smile.
