he Orlando Philharmonic
Orchestra continues its Focus
Chamber Series with Mahler’s
Song of the Earth on Monday,
January 14 at 7 p.m. at The
Plaza Live. The concert will
feature Music Director,
Eric Jacobsen, and
vocalists Rachel
Calloway and Alex
Richardson as
they present one
of Gustav Mahler’s
final works, Das
Lied von der Erde
(The Song of the
Earth). The program
also includes: CHEN
YI – Shuo.
Describing the artistic thread
weaving through the Philharmonic’s
program, Jacobsen says “The Song of
the Earth is a song cycle set with text
from [ancient Chinese poetry], and
that’s why we’ve combined Mahler
with Chinese-born composer, Chen
Yi, as a way to bring two different
worlds together.”

Evening at the Pops, held at Lake
Apopka’s Newton Park in late March.
