table using regional ingredients, so the menu
does fluctuate periodically to provide the best
seasonal items (the winter menu is to be
released soon). Urban Flats also has Sunday
Brunch from 11am – 2pm with weekly specials
such as Eggs Benedict, Biscuit’s & Gravy,
Shrimp & Grits, and Chicken & Waffles.
Even larger than the food menu is the wine
list. Broken down into various categories from
Bubbly to Dark Reds, the list features more
than 100 varietals from around the globe,
with a number of them dispensed through a
temperature-controlled, wine-keeping system.
If an entire bottle is too much, more than
36 wines are available by the glass in either
3-ounce or 6-ounce pours. “Our wine list
is geared toward value, with many bottles
ranging from $20 to $45,” said Downs, “wine
by the glass, depending upon the selection, can
run from $3 to $15.” Bottled and draft beers,
and specialty martinis & cocktails round out
the alcoholic beverage menu. A local and staff
favorite is the Urban Mule, made by blending
Figenza Fig Vodka, Gosling’s Ginger Beer and
lime, served in a traditional copper mug.
Weekly, on Wednesday evenings beginning
at 7:30pm, the bar area plays host to Trivia
Nation’s Pop Culture Live Trivia game. Guests
play on teams to answer a series of questions,
competing for prizes for the top 3 teams. On
Saturday evenings, live music is featured with
acts such as the Lyndsley Green Duo, Walker
& Walker, Carmen Harrell, and Blondetourage,
among others.
Happy Hour cocktail and limited menu
specials are available weekdays from 3pm to
6:30pm and again 9pm to close, and weekends
from 11am to 6:30pm. Look for specials like
$1 off draft and bottle beers and $5 select
cocktails and wines. The bar area features a
host of televisions with the ability to show all
sports and all games. The restaurant also offers
free Wi-Fi to its customers.
