Winter Garden Magazine February 2016 - Justin & Holli Trisler | Page 15

Justin is a true romantic and Prince Charming. He stopped at nothing to pursue my heart in the sweetest, most intentional, and most gentlemanly way. He took great care in planning extremely thoughtful dates from picnics to boat rides to scavenger hunts to firework viewing. Every time we went on a date he brought me something-- be it chocolate, notes, or wildflowers. He would surprise me at work with little gifts or secretly send me letters through other cast members. It didn’t take long for us to know we had finally found that person God had for us, and we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. first time we saw each other, Justin did a double-take and I thought to myself, “wow- he is really cute!” Immediately our nerves started taking off, and we were a smiling and giggling mess. During the show, Justin picks me up and spins me around, and he was so nervous he stumbled and almost fell! It took a while for him to get over that embarrassment, but I thought it was very endearing. We were able to have a few short conversations between shows and I knew immediately there was something really special about this guy. I never before believed in love at first sight, but it definitely seemed like that is what we experienced. In fact, I was so confident about it, I went out to dinner with my best friend that evening and told her “I met my husband today.” One early morning, Justin took me on a surprise adventure-- a hot air balloon ride. It was a gorgeous morning and so early that we saw the most beautiful sunrise. I thought to myself, “this would be a great time for Justin to propose!” However, as we were nearing the end of our balloon ride and it hadn’t happened yet, I completely dismissed the thought. At that time, Justin hands me some binoculars he had brought along and says-- “what’s that in the field over there?” I took the binoculars and that is when I saw all of my best friends holding a giant banner that read “Holli, will you forever be my always?” I couldn’t believe it really was happening after all! Justin gets down on one knee right there in the basket of the hot air balloon, holds out the most gorgeous ring I’ve ever seen, and asks me to be his wife. It wasn’t hard for me to yell YES! Three months ago was our wedding day, which also happened to be the one year anniversary of the day we met. It was a whirlwind year but we knew we had finally been given the desire of our hearts with each other. I mentioned briefly that we made “unity chocolate milk” during our wedding ceremony. We didn’t really love the idea of candles or sand, so we decided to come up with something a little different that symbolized us very wellchocolate milk. He poured the milk, I poured the chocolate, and we stirred it together with a spoon that represented God intertwining our lives together, never to be separated. Then we drank it out of silly straws :)
