My family and I went to see the Orlando Solar Bears
battle against the Atlanta Gladiators on October
28th and had a fantastic time. I started to go over all
the things that I was surprised by, delighted by, and
intrigued by…and before you know it, I had 13 great
reasons why everyone should get to a Solar Bears
game or get a season’s worth of tickets.
11 Proud to be in Orlando
Between the $70,000 that the Solar Bears raised with their Pride Night Pulse benefit on
opening night this season, to the clear attachment they have to the city, to be involved
in the Orange County School system, to the obvious community connections that aren’t
simply cursory, to the obvious fact that majority owner Joe Haleski is committed to the
Solar Bears and the city of Orlando, it is extremely easy to be proud of the Solar Bears as an
organization. In an era of sports where owners don’t feel connected to the community at
large, or where scandal seems to follow teams around like a dark cloud, the Orlando Solar
Bears are a tremendous asset to the city.
