Editor’s Note I believe the publishing industry as a whole is transitioning. But it will take us, as an industry, to create a re-education of how important it is to have a tangible read. cee castillo [email protected] Publisher / Editor-in-Chief Editor Brett Dault [email protected] Contributors Melissa A. Wildey Layout & Graphic Design George Hevel IV Samantha Rhodes taylor mobley As a community magazine focusing on a small area, I have found it difficult to attract the type of advertisers that I would like to have, but at the same time I am attracting a large readership, which is really the intent of this publication. Our focus became more of obtaining a following than a monetization issue at first – at least not until we had created something that everyone actually wanted to have on their sofa table or at their offices. Now it has become a sought-after read because it is content rich with minimal advertising and brings the written word back to its origins... that’s what this is. We often complain that we are not thriving educationally as we should in the scope of our world, but that is because we are allow- ing our youth to read less and less; we have less love of reading, or writing available to them. So if each one of us that is responsible for publishing concentrates on the importance of maintaining a good, content-rich reading environment, I think we will survive this down- ward trend. There will always be a place for proper books and magazines... There is no reason we cannot prosper in tandem with digital venues. e - Ce Illustration Taylor Mobley Photography Samantha Rhodes Advertising [email protected] Contact Us 13640 W.
