Do I recommend you try this recipe? Yeah, you totally should. It actually tastes pretty decent and you don't have to track down any ancient Roman ingredients. The bread turned out well, if a little bland. This can easily be remedied with butter, the spread (moretum), or even a tad more salt in the dough.

My family mistook the moretum for guacamole, and they were unpleasantly surprised when they had a spoonful. Raw garlic and vinegar are very strong flavors, and while they are tempered by the bread, it still does have a bite to it. All in all, I would rate this recipe a solid 7.5/10. I enjoyed making it, and it tasted good, the flavors just didn't amaze me.
