Grove VOLUNTEER & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES BE A BUDDY Sponsor the care and feeding of resident animals (your choice) at The Grove. Your sponsorship includes: • An official Certificate of Sponsorship suitable for framing • Color print of your animal • Fact sheet about your animal • Your name on the “Animal Sponsorship” list displayed at the Interpretive Center VOLUNTEERS Share your love of nature and history with others! The Grove has volunteer opportunities for all ages and abilities. Opportunities include: • Animal care • Environmental restoration • Special events • School/group programs We’ll work with you to find a good fit for your talents, interests and schedule. RESTORATION WORK DAYS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMING, GROUP TOURS & BIRTHDAYS Make a difference in the environment! Work parties may be cancelled in case of inclement weather. School programs include opportunities to live the life of a pioneer, get hands-on with plants and animals and experience our fragile ecosystem. Group programs for scouts, seniors, camps and other groups include trail walks, sleepovers and nature talks. Minimum group requirements apply. The Traveling Trunk is our education outreach which will visit your school, camp, daycare, senior center or special event for a one-hour program led by our trained staff. Turtles, toads and snakes are just some of the animals who will come for this hands-on program. Invite a snake or turtle to your child’s next birthday party when you host it at The Grove! See page 73 for party options that are truly wild! AGES 8+ YRS. …AT THE GROVE Sundays at 9 am November 17, December 1, January 12 and February 9 Collect seeds or remove non-native, invasive plants to make way for native wildflowers, grasses and trees. No advance registration necessary—just bring your work gloves if you have them and meet at the Interpretive Center. …AT FULLER AIR STATION PRAIRIE Saturdays at 9 am December 7, January 4 and February 15 Sponsored by the North Branch Restoration Project, seasonal activities include brush cutting, weed removal and seed collection.
