MUSICAL PERFORMANCE BY THE AFRO-SEMITIC EXPERIENCE

Co-founded by African-American jazz pianist Warren Byrd , and Jewish-American jazz bassist David Chevan in 1998 , The Afro-Semitic Experience is a band beyond category — performing an intricate tapestry of spiritual , world-beat , funk , jazz , cantorial , gospel , salsa , swing . . . soul-driven music . Their concerts combine an eclectic array of styles , sophisticated musicianship , good songwriting , deep grooves , and years of friendship with a simple message of Unity in the Community .

Additional programming includes Shabbat Shirah Services at Congregation Ahabah ( February 7 ) and a musical workshop at the Northside Family YMCA on Saturday morning .

Join us for “ A Night of Magic ,” the Weinstein JCC Annual Fundraising Gala , on Thursday , February 20 , 2025 . Enjoy gourmet food from Chef Antyo , live music by Ken Kellner , and an enchanting magic show by Mike D ’ Urzo . The evening will also feature a VIP reception , wine , desserts , and an opportunity to give through Tzedakah .

The Weinstein JCC Preschool is excited to bring back freshly baked hamantaschen from Shalom Kosher of Silver Spring , MD ! This is the preschool ’ s biggest and the community ’ s most beloved fundraiser , with all proceeds going to enhance our beautiful , certified outdoor nature play spaces

Join us at the Hamantaschen Café in the Richard A . Arenstein Lobby during the Purim Celebration on March 9 , and from March 10-13 , 9 AM - 1 PM . Hamantaschen will be available until they run out , so be sure to pre-order your favorites !
