He cautions that the key to making AI most effective in recruiting is what you do before you bring it in . “ Ask yourself what objective you are aiming to accomplish ,” he advises . “ Examine your talent acquisition strategies , focusing on sourcing , recruiting , evaluating , and engaging with candidates . The key is recognizing repetitive tasks and identifying opportunities for AI to enhance human creativity and efficiency . For the best integration of AI , it is crucial to have an in-depth understanding of the current workflow and identify any gaps .”
What an AI Future Looks Like
As Van Horn looks to the future of the last-mile he foresees an expanding role for AI . “ AI is set to be a transformative force , unlocking new potential and igniting innovation ,” he points out . “ Its impact on business and our daily lives is anticipated to be as significant as that of the internet . Organizations refraining from adopting AI could encounter numerous challenges such as falling behind in competition , experiencing operational inefficiencies , struggling to meet customer experience expectations , and facing difficulties in scaling effectively .”
He also predicts that talent acquisition teams for our industry will require their members to have different skills than what they have today : “ With the growing prevalence of AI , there will be a heightened emphasis on reskilling and upskilling initiatives to pinpoint the competencies employees require to excel in a technologically advanced work environment . Talent acquisition teams are set to evolve considerably from their present structure . Technology skills will become equally important as traditional talent acquisition abilities . I envision roles specifically focused on AI becoming integral components of HR teams in the future .
He sums things up this way : “ Adopting AI is a critical business necessity , and we are just starting to explore its implementation in the last-mile industry . The path forward with this technology is set to be an exciting adventure !!”
