For one , the company uses it to help generate compelling and complete responses to RFPs . “ ChatGPT knows my business because I ’ ve put my information into the system ,” points out Ellerbee . “ We are a certified minority-owned women ’ s business ( MBE ). Each customer has their own process for working with certified businesses . Each requires the answers to their own questions . Using ChatGPT , I can easily respond . In the past , I ’ d have to search through my computer for the exact information they needed . That took a lot of time .”
The company has also used AI in the sales process . For Express Errands & Courier sales staff , it offers responses to objections . For email marketing , AI can generate several versions of an introductory email so the company can send several unique emails to the same customer . “ That way , it ’ s not like we are sending the same repetitive email , which can cause an email system to blacklist us ,” she says .
And That ’ s Not All
Ellerbee also points to other ways she uses AI . They include :
• Identifying KPIs – “ I put a query into AI to help me identify and measure the performance indicators for my company ,” she says . “ I asked , ‘ What are the KPIs for a company my size , in my location , at our age and with the number of ICs we have ?’ It helped me identify the KPIs to use to monitor our business . It gave me some great guidance .”
• Updating the employee handbook – When Ellerbee had to make some adjustments to her employee handbook , AI came in handy . “ We originally had our attorneys create the handbook , but when I needed to do a few quick policy changes , I didn ’ t need my lawyer to get involved . I just needed to clarify an issue , and AI was how I did it .”
• Doing some good for employees in a bind – Ellerbee wanted to help out some of her employees who were hit with unexpected expenses . To do that , she will be setting up an emergency grant fund she calls Latitude . “ These people are helping me chase my dreams . Who am I not to help them out ? I ’ ve been in their shoes ,” she says . “ I knew I wanted to call the program Latitude , so I turned to ChatGPT for a slogan to match that name . It came up with ‘ life-altering transformations in times of urgency and distress .’ I love that ! I can ’ t wait to start that program this year . My team members are playing a part in building up this empire . I love that I ’ ll be able to help them in times of stress and that ChatGPT could help me do it .”
