Music as sweet as the wine at Annata

From the day its doors first opened , Annata Wine Bar has been making a name for itself as a premier destination for food and libations . Not long after , Annata began garnering a reputation for its live music .
Jackie Brunozzi Dolan , one of the wine bar ’ s owners , said that there were a few musicians who initially approached Annata about playing there .
“ There were some asks for it —’ you should have live music ’— from musicians that came in and talked to us . It started haphazardly , then we got it going to a pretty regular Friday night thing ,” Dolan said .
One of the first acts , Dolan said , was local artist Robin Gazzara .
“ She always says that we were the first place she played at . At the time , she was fresh out of college and had a musical background . I would see her at the restaurant and talk to her . I asked her , why don ’ t you play here ?” Dolan said .
Now , Dolan said , Annata Wine Bar regularly has live music on Thursday and Friday nights .

p . m ,, and music on Fridays starts at 7 p . m . At 6 p . m . on a Thursday , you can expect it to be a little more laidback and low-key . As it gets a little bit later , maybe they ’ ll turn it up if the crowd desires ,” Dolan said .
Dolan said that the type of music often depends on the crowd .
“ If it ’ s a Thursday night , with a more reserved dinner crowd , it ’ s a nice background touch that adds a different vibe to the night . It ’ s not too overpowering and in-your-face . On Friday nights , as the night goes on , it ’ s more of a party , fun night ,” Dolan said .
Many of the musicians at Annata have been playing there for years , Dolan said , but there have also been new acts added .
“ There were a nice handful of musicians that we had and that we still have and that we ’ ve met over the years . Those musicians have always been in the mix with us , and still are . More recently , in October or November , we started using Ryan Fiske Entertainment , and he has brought in some new musicians just to keep it fresh and mix it up for us ,” Dolan said .
