Trip to Africa by Max Yeo
In the summer break between grade 3 and 4 , I travelled to Kenya with my family . Being a stunning experience , it was the best vacation I have ever had in my life so far . During the trip , we spent 14 days there ; both weeks were very enjoyable .
At first , I got worried because of the 13 hours long plane flight , as I have never had such a long flight before . But when I got onto the plane , it was not that bad at all , everything is normal . The first day we arrived , a driver came to pick us up and took us to the hotel in Nairobi city . Next day , we set off our trip in a large 4x4 car , going across the country . We spent several days in the grassland doing safari with plenty of animals there , such as lions , deer , and elephants . It was really fun and great during that period . The grassland is huge and not easy travelling through . So , one day we got stuck at the far side with nearly nobody in a big mud puddle . Our driver was calling and notifying other drivers within the grassland to come help . We were really far away so it took to until 11 PM when the car got towed out .
We also went to the equator there , but ironically , it was really cold there . The elevation was extremely high near Mount Kilimanjaro , so the temperature is
around zero . I got a bad fever there , so we went to the nearest clinic , which was about an hour of
drive . I was extremely sick that I vomited several times , and for the reason , I stayed at the hotel room for the next three days watching the 2018 World Cup .
After all that , we went on another safari at the other end of the country for a few more days before returning to Nairobi . I went back to the airport later and returned to Shanghai the next day . It was a unique personal experience I had .
