Changchun Versus Shanghai by Nick Kim

So far , I have lived in two cities in China :

Changchun and Shanghai . Since they are in the same country , they had some similarities . However ,
there were definitely some noticeable differences . Now , I want to share three major differences between Changchun and Shanghai .
The first major difference between Changchun and Shanghai is their temperature . In Changchun , it was normal to see snow even in early spring . Snow was one of the best toys for Changchun ’ s local kids . However , people in Shanghai are busy taking videos whenever they see snow in Shanghai . Snow and temperatures below -20 ° C , which are common in Changchun during the winter , are uncommon in Shanghai .

Lastly , Shanghai people are more polite than those in Changchun , just in my opinion and perspective . In Changchun , there were many taxi drivers who forced their clients to walk to their taxi in order to earn more money by wasting their time . However ,
I have now lived in Shanghai for 6 years , and I have not seen those things happen in Shanghai . Also , many Changchun people were throwing garbage at others when they were mad at each other . Unlike them , Shanghai people don ’ t usually do that , at least when others are looking .

Secondly , Shanghai has more cultural diffusion . Changchun lacked many foreignized services , such as foreign restaurants . However , there are many foreign systems and services in Shanghai . There are even some streets that are designed for people from other countries , such as Korean Town . In Changchun , it was really hard to eat Korean foods , so we could only eat some random Chinese foods every day . Additionally , there are many international schools in Shanghai , while there is only one international school in Changchun . This also reflects
