With a wet and windswept day outside my office window , I just took a moment to revisit something deliciously warming from this issue . It ’ s a sun-drenched styled shoot in country Queensland ( pictured right ) that just happens to include a few of my favourite things : Champagne towers , gorgeous gowns , and a dreamy sunset photo call . It also inspired our front cover ! Step into the light on p . 35 .
Speaking of mood-boosters , florals are on our radar this issue ( to be fair , every issue ). Brights are back . Praise be ! While a white bouquet is timeless , and earthy tones are endlessly appealing , there ’ s something about bright blooms that lifts the spirits , effortlessly cutting through Covid-era austerity . Find your favourites on p . 41 .
Quick question : have you attended a hotel wedding recently ? You know , the kind with a fancy ballroom , staircase photo-op , and the kind of all-weather security many couples are putting in their non-negotiable list . We ’ ve had an influx of hotel weddings hit our inbox of late , so we decided to explore the return of this classic wedding style on p . 85 . There ’ s also plenty of variety in our ceremonies & receptions showcase ( starting p . 83 ) if you ’ re yet to lock in that perfect Queensland venue .
And don ’ t worry , we haven ’ t forgotten your hit of real weddings . We chose nine joyous celebrations to share , from colourful and creative urban events to romantic country soirées and beachside vows . Don ’ t miss the North Queensland nuptials of a florist who styled her own event ( those ‘ floral arm tattoos ’!). The way these couples negotiated Covid , floods , venue work-arounds and more to realise their dream days is truly awe-inspiring . All that action starts on p . 47 .
