The COVID-19 pandemic sparked renewed interest by our competitors in deploying fiber as personal and business transactions increasingly transition online . Expanding our service area will place Cox in a stronger position to capture this opportunity .
Creating Opportunities As normal attrition and movement occurs , there may be opportunities for our people to move into positions at Segra . For example , Cox leaders Vonya Alleyne , Robin Dunson and Tim Montz moved over to Segra to fill vacancies on the senior leadership team and serve as chief people officer , chief legal counsel and chief financial officer , respectively . And there are opportunities for existing Segra leaders to continue to grow and take on new roles . Dan Watts was recently promoted to chief information officer and Scott Wallhermfechtel to chief technology officer to round out the senior leadership team .
Segra ’ s existing management team will continue to lead its enterprise and carrier organization . The company will retain the Segra brand and operate as a standalone business within the Cox family of companies .
“ Segra has an extremely talented group of employees who are focused on delivering outstanding solutions to business
customers in their communities ,” said Jeff Breaux , executive vice president of Cox Business . “ This remarkable collection of talent is one of the reasons we were attracted to the fiber leader , and we look forward to having them join the Cox family of businesses .”
