throughout the year . During the chilly months of January through March , readers ages 16 and older can curl up with a good read while they take part in the annual winter reading program .
In 2021 , the program started Jan . 1 , and runs through March 15 .
In lieu of in-person storytimes this year , the library is doing Sidewalk Storytimes , where they post a book in the front window of the library for two weeks at a time , and pair it with a take-home craft kit , available on the curbside pickup cart in the library ’ s foyer .
“ We tried it last summer , since we were unable to do in-person storytimes for Summer Reading , and it was so popular that we brought it back for fall storytime , as well , “ Ebert said .
The 2021 summer reading program , “ Reading Colors Your World ,” will start Tuesday , June 1 , and go through the end of July . The program is open to children ages 5 and older , teens , and adults .
“ Hopefully we ’ ll be able to do Storytime in the Park Friday mornings and other programs this summer , but in case we can ’ t , we ’ re planning more Sidewalk Storytimes and take-home activities ,” Ebert added . Events at the Library The 2021 book sale will take placeMonday , April 19 through Saturday , April 24 , with “ Fill a Bag For a Buck ” Saturday , April 24 .
Book donations are accepted year-round , but must be in good condition , and be published within the last three years .
During October , Booktoberfest 2021 will again feature the popular “ World ’ s Easiest Bookclub ,” and more Minnesota authors coming to talk about their current books .
The signature fundraiser for the Winsted Library is the annual silent auction during the Winsted Winter Festival . The proceeds of the auction help fund all library programs , as well as the summer and winter reading programs and storytimes throughout the year . The Winsted Library Commission The Winsted Library Commission is very active , striving to make the library a vital resource within the community .
