World first hydrogen-powered and zeroemission passenger train named as Coradia iLint was unveiled in Germany. The first of its kind ecofriendly train has been developed by French rail company Alstom. The Coradia iLint only emits excess steam and condensed water into the atmosphere.

Scientists have discovered a new‘ super Earth’ type exoplanet named as GJ 536b orbiting a very bright star near to our Sun.
• Exoplanet: It is a planet that does not orbit the Sun and instead orbits a different star,

stellar remnant, or brown dwarf. It is also termed as extrasolar planet.
• Super-earths: They are extrasolar planets which are larger than the Earth. However they have mass substantially below the solar system’ s giant planets namely Neptune and Uranus.
NASA launches Next Generation Weather Satellite GOES-R. The Satellite was launched by NASA on behalf of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration( NOAA). It was launched on board of Atlas 5 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
Scientists detect water on metallic asteroid Psyche. The Study was authored by Joshua Emery, Associate Professor of Planetary Science and Driss Takir, a US Geological Survey scientist based in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Padmini Rout wins National Women Premier Championship for third time. The triumph also ensured that Rout will be a part of the Indian women team in the next World team chess championship.

• PV Sindhu wins China Open Super Series title. The seventh seed Sindhu defeated sixth-seeded Sung Ji Hyun of Korea 11-21, 23-21, 21-19 in a thrilling contest. This was Sindhu ' s sixth win over Ji Hyun in nine encounters.
• Gaganjeet Bhullar wins 2016 Indonesia Open Golf Championship. India’ s Jeev Milkha Singh settled for tied 2nd position after making bogey on the 17th hole to finish on 72. Thailand ' s Danthai Boonma and Panuphol Pittayarat, and Tour rookie Johannes Veerman of the United States also settled for the 2nd position alongside Singh.

• Universal Children’ s Day observed on 20 November. Universal Children ' s Day aims at promoting the human rights of the world ' s children, especially those suffering the impacts of poverty, discrimination, armed conflict and exploitation
• World Philosophy Day 2016 observed globally Nov 17, 2016. This year, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization( UNESCO) organised the special events from 16 November to 18 November.
