Tejaswani Priyadarshani

INSPIRATION

In a time where the world is concerned about the depleting energy sources, 14 year old Tejaswani Priyadarshani from Rourkela has shown the way. She created a bicycle that is propelled by air and can go upto 60kms with 10kg compressed air. The idea struck her at a bicycle repair shop as she observed the mechanics using air gun to untie the knots in tyres. That was her Eureka moment. She shared the idea with her father, who helped her and together they conducted several experiments. They bought an air tank with an inlet for filling air. It was fitted with a measuring dial, a starting knob and a safety valve to release excess air. According to her, the same technique can be used for other vehicles too. She hopes to display invention in national and international exhibitions.
