Miller Megaplex Theatres as Utah’s favorite movie theatres according to Utah Family Magazine. Three of the top five spots are Megaplex locations. Megaplex Theatres at The District in South Jordan claimed the top spot in the survey, with the Jordan Commons and Valley Fair Mall locations also finishing in the top five. July 4, 2016 - Season tickets for the inaugural season of the Salt Lake City Stars went on sale. July 21, 2016 - LHM Sports & Entertainment announced the formation of a new men’s college basketball showcase at Vivint Smart Home Arena that will feature in-state teams from Brigham Young University, the University of Utah, Utah State University, and Weber State University. The Zions Bank Beehive Classic will feature four teams playing in an annual doubleheader each December for the next three years (2017–2019). More photos at: www.LHMWSM.com July 26, 2016 - Utah Jazz guard Chris Johnson, center Jeff Withey, and Jazz broadcaster and alumnus Thurl Bailey took part in the 2016 Junior Jazz road trip. The annual summer tour traveled more than 4,500 miles to 38 cities in four states and reached more than 2,000 boys and girls. July 28, 2016 - The Salt Lake City Stars announced that Dean Cooper would return as head coach. Cooper is entering his third season as the head coach for the team. August 17, 2016 - The Salt Lake Bees and Vivint Smart Home hosted Autism Awareness Night on August 17 during the Bees vs. New Orleans Zephyrs game at Smith’s Ballpark. Vivint donated 200 tickets to families with children on the autism spectrum and provided a pregame picnic. Hans Olsen and Scott Garrard will be co-hosts. August 24, 2016 - The University of Utah unveiled the newly refurbished Enos A. Wall Mansion at an event commemorating the reopening of this historic building. The structure, in the heart of Salt Lake City, has been renamed the Thomas S. Monson Center after the current president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation was one of the contributors to the restoration and has two named spaces in the building: the Larry H. & Gail Miller Town Hall, and the Gail Miller Reception Room. SCOTT BATES (LHMRE) SERVING UP FOOD AND SMILES August 26, 2016 - Salt Lake Bees Head Groundskeeper Brian Soukup and the Bees grounds crew were awarded a 2016 Sports Turf Management Presidential Commendation. Voting for the award was conducted by the 16 field managers and PCL on-field officials. Voting is based on 11 different categories, from the field setup for batting practice to the overall playing surface during the game. August 27, 2016 - The Utah Jazz partnered with University of Utah Health Care for the eighth annual Be Well Utah – A Family Health Week. On August 27, Jazz players Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward, and Jazz mascots Bear and Lil’ Bear, made special appearances at a family health fair. August 31, 2016 - Utah Jazz assistant coach Johnnie Bryant participated in the first Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa Camp in Angola. The camp was held August 31 to September 3 at Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba in Luanda.
