LHM CHARITIES JULY-AUGUST 2016 UPDATE charities receiving support from LHM Charities include Make Way for Books, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and Support Our Troops – Arizona. Larry H. Miller Charities donates funding to 501(c)(3) nonprofit programs that benefit women and children who live in the communities where Miller companies conduct business. Emphasis is placed on the issues of health and education. Family Promise of Greater Denver was granted funding for programs that help homeless families, and Kidpower of Colorado received a donation that will provide personal safety training to children in Colorado Springs. In honor of National Child Passenger Safety Month, LHM Dealerships Arizona hosted a car seat safety campaign where free safety checks were provided each Saturday in September. In support of the initiative, LHM Charities donated to Safe Kids Pima County via the Tucson Medical Center Foundation and also contributed to Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County. Other Arizona A contribution to Union Gospel Mission will go toward an annual Thanksgiving dinner for Spokane residents in need. In Utah, donations to Youth Sports Alliance and Bad Dog Artz are enabling low-income youth to participate in afterschool programs. A contribution to Dual Immersion Academy will provide the school with a bilingual reading tutor, and a grant to We Are Pals will support an equineassisted therapy program that benefits troubled teens. Playworks was given funding to help Title I schools decrease fighting and bullying on the playground. Girls on the Run received support that will enable underprivileged girls to participate in its running program. Boy Scouts of America Great Salt Lake Council and the Bradley Center for Prestige Financial presented a donation to the Ability Foundation.
