COLORADO DEALERSHIPS GET "STUFF FOR STUDENTS"
Larry H. Miller Dealerships in Colorado
joined Denver’s 9NEWS and Volunteers of
America (VOA) for the 14th Annual Stuff for
Students school supply drive. From August
1-31, the seven Larry H. Miller dealership
locations statewide collected essential
school supply items—from backpacks
and notebooks to pens and pencils and
everything in between. VOA sorted the
donated supplies and distributed them
to more than 15 Colorado school districts
based on the percentage of
free/reduced lunch students.
“We’ve made it our mission to enrich the
lives of our customers, employees and
community,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice
president of operations, Larry H. Miller
Dealerships. “Providing children with the
tools they need to start the school year
off right through the ‘Stuff for Students’
program is an example of this commitment.”
The Dealerships collected $60,000 in
school supplies. In addition, Larry H. Miller
Charities presented “Stuff for Students” a
check for $5,000 to help further extend the
gift of school supplies to more students.
Because of LHM’s involvement, the
program (for the first time ever) was able
to fulfill all requests for supplies, serving an
additional 3,500 students in the Denver/
Boulder area, as well as 550 students in
Colorado Springs. “Having Larry H. Miller
Dealerships as a partner this year was a
huge blessing,” said Bradley Gulley, VOA
director of volunteer programs.
GIVING BACK TO
THE COMMUNITY
Larry H. Miller Charities, through
the Larry H. Miller Dealerships
in Albuquerque, presented more
than $30,000 in donations to
five Albuquerque nonprofits.
Representatives from all of the LHM
Albuquerque dealerships were on
hand to present checks to Abrazos
Family Support Services, Duke City
Dream Lab, CLN Kids, Amity’s Almas
de Amistad, and the Boys & Girls
Clubs of New Mexico.
“Each of these organizations provide fundamental services to children in our community and
we’re proud to support programs that will enhance their lives through education, personal
development and health and wellness,” said Ray Reilly, senior vice president of operations
for Larry H. Miller Dealerships.
Larry H. Miller American Toyota, in conjunction with Toyota Motor Sales Education
Outreach and Larry H. Miller Charities, presented $10,000 to the Explora Science Center
and Children’s Museum for its youth intern program and $10,000 to Youth Development
Inc. (YDI) for its computer clubhouse, which provides youth ages 8-18 with access to
computer technology.
