On Monday, July 15, 2013, the National Basketball
Association and the NBA Development League, the
official minor league of the NBA, announced that the
Utah Jazz’s NBA D-League affiliate for the 2013-14
season will be the Bakersfield Jam.
On Friday, July 19, 2013, the Utah Jazz announced
that BrAD Jones has been promoted to an assistant
coach on Tyrone Corbin’s staff, after having spent
the 2012-13 season as assistant coach/player
development. Jones joins returning assistants Sidney
Lowe and Michael Sanders on Corbin’s staff.
On Tuesday, July 23, 2013, the Utah Jazz announced
today that the team has hired reigning NBA
Development League Coach of the Year and former
University of Utah standout, Alex Jensen, to the
position of player development assistant.
On Friday, August 16, 2013, the Utah Jazz announced
that the team has promoted David Fredman to
director of pro player personnel, Richard Smith to
executive director of basketball operations and also
hired Bart Taylor as coordinator of scouting and
Isaiah Wright as assistant strength and conditioning
coach.
On Friday, August 16, 2013, KJZZ 14 and the Utah
High School Athletic Association agreed to a fiveyear
broadcast deal for prep 3A, 4A and 5A football
playoffs and state championships as well as 4A and
5A basketball championships.
On Tuesday, August 20, 2013, the Utah Jazz
announced that the organization has named Justin
Zanik as the team’s assistant general manager.
On Monday, August 21, 2013, the National Basketball
Association (NBA) and the International Basketball
Federation (FIBA) announced that Utah Jazz head
coach Tyrone Corbin will participate in the 2013
Basketball without Borders (BWB) camp in South
Africa.
On Wednesday, August 22, 2013, The Zone Sports
Network, heard on 1280 The Zone (KZNS-AM),
97.5 (KZNS-FM) and 960 (KOVO-AM), outlined its
extensive college and professional football radio
programming, featuring former coaches LaVell
Edwards, Ron McBride and Brandon Doman, along
with expanded NBC Sports Radio coverage of the
National Football League (NFL), including play-byplay
coverage of the Sunday tripleheader, Monday
Night Football and every playoff game including the
Super Bowl.
On Monday, August 26, 2013, the Pacific Coast
League announced that Salt lAKe Bees first baseman
Efren Navarro has been named to the 2013 All-
PCL Team, as elected by field managers and media
representatives.
