A team of LHM cyclists heeded the to call to head
west to ride the Group Health Seattle to Portland
Bicycle Classic — the biggest multi-day bike ride in
the Northwest. The team included Steve Miller (MSP),
Jim Brown (LEX), Dan Johnson (MAO), Scott Bates
(MMC), Gran Crowell, Trent Eyre, and Chris Seare.

This 200-mile bicycle
ride, known as the STP,
boasts up to 10,000
participants riding from
Seattle to Portland in
one or two days. The
route travels through
the scenic valleys,
forests, and farmlands
of western Washington
and Oregon.

For the team of LHM riders, the day started on
Saturday, July 13 at the University of Washington
and finished the next day at Holladay Park in
Northeast Portland.
“The weather was perfect; the scenery was amazing,”
shared Jim Brown. “Seeing Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens
and Mt. Hood was really
spectacular.” WS
