LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Each year at the LHM Summit , the company recognizes two employees with the Larry H . Miller Leadership Excellence Award . Established in 2011 , the award recognizes individuals for their leadership , example and accomplishments during the past year and their contributions over their career with the Larry H . Miller Company . For the recipients , the honor is both humbling and a surprise .
Amanda Covington , Chief Corporate Affairs Officer , was named a 2024 recipient . Beyond her corporate responsibilities , Amanda actively serves the community as chair of the Utah Board of Higher Education , a board member for the Salt Lake Chamber and 47G , and an advisory board member of The Policy Project .
“ I can ’ t imagine this company without Amanda Covington and the role she fills . That lets you know the impact she ’ s had and the value she ’ s created and how she ’ s become an integral part of our team ,” said Steve Starks .

The second 2024 honoree was Ian McDonald , Chief Financial Officer . With seven years with the Larry H . Miller organization , Ian has held various leadership roles and became CFO in 2021 after serving as VP and SVP of Finance at Miller Sports + Entertainment .
In the video tribute for Ian , Clint Stone , Chief Investment Officer , shared , “ Ian is not afraid to ask hard questions , but at the same time he ’ s very supportive . That balance brings a lot of value to our organization .”
“ Ian is a great leader and a great friend . He is someone I admire , and I look forward to working together for a long time ,” Steve said .
Steve Starks and Greg Miller presented Amanda Covington with the award . Amanda ’ s husband , Cory , joined her onstage .
