SHOWING THANKS BY GIVING BACK
On November 20 , 2023 , the Miller family and members of the Larry H . Miller organization provided a Thanksgiving meal for individuals in Salt Lake City that are experiencing homelessness and food insecurity . Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal and connected with community service providers who furnished dental cleanings , hygiene kits , mental health services , bicycle repair , and more , all free of charge . It was the 25th consecutive year that the Miller family has provided this giving-back gesture to the community .
“ Our guests are excited about the meal , but they ’ re also excited about the things that they can do to help improve their lives ,” said Don Stirling , executive director of Miller Family Philanthropy . “ We try to provide a full suite of opportunities where they can leave having enjoyed a great meal , along with some things that can help their lives long-term .”
Hundreds of volunteers gathered at the Salt Palace in downtown Salt Lake City and served more than 3,000 Thanksgiving meals to guests . Volunteers included leaders and employees across the Larry H . Miller organization as well as civic and government leaders .
