Legacies are built , not bought
The Business Session began with powerful words from Steve Starks , CEO of the Larry H . Miller Company . He gave an overview of the LHM organization and thanked the audience for their guidance as we continue our journey forward . He ended his remarks with a powerful message : “ We are stewards of and build legacy businesses , and we believe legacies are built , not bought .”
Afterward , attendees gathered for the Landscape of Professional Sports in Utah panel featuring sports executives from the state of Utah and national organizations . Panelists discussed the possibility of Utah hosting future Olympic games and Major League Baseball in Utah . A member of the Big League Utah coalition and former MLB player , Dale

Leadership , Connectivity and Essentialism
The final two days of the LHM Summit were dedicated to company leadership . During his opening remarks , Greg Miller talked about one of the main themes of the week : connectivity . Greg drew the attention of the attendees to the beauty of the surrounding aspen trees and their powerful , interconnected root systems . As the world ’ s largest living organism , the aspens can inspire us as a company as we work to conserve our values and sustain our legacy .
Michelle Smith , Chief People Officer , shared insights from the recent employee engagement survey and discussed the value of listening to and taking action on the areas of importance to employees ( see pg . 13 ).
