of the nation ’ s healthiest pediatric population .,” said Gail Miller
Prior to his passing in 2009 , as Gail recently shared , Larry asked her to sell his rare coin collection after his passing . Ultimately , Gail sold the collection in 2020 and subsequently used the proceeds as part of the Miller Family Foundation ’ s overall donation to Intermountain Health ’ s Primary Promise campaign to build the new Children ’ s Hospital in Lehi , Utah .
With this new hospital , cuttingedge treatment and care are more accessible , helping children to live the healthiest lives possible for current and future generations .
The new campus addresses the rapidly growing pediatric population in Utah County , which some estimates indicate will be equal to that of Salt Lake County by 2040 . Access to quality and timely healthcare for children is vital so individuals , families and communities can thrive .
Throughout the building project , Gail Miller and members of the Miller Family Foundation participated in various gatherings to mark construction progress milestones .
On June 15 , 2021 , Gail Miller was joined by members of the Miller Family Foundation , Zane Miller and Karen Williams , to sign a construction beam at the building site prior to its installation on the future hospital .
In her remarks at the ribbon cutting , Gail shared a quote from Neil Postman that inspired the Miller Family Foundation ’ s contribution . “ Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see .”
Then and now : In 2020 , at the announcement of the Primary Children ’ s Hospital project , Nellie Mainor , a Primary Children ’ s patient , presented a hand-made card and necklace to Gail Miller as a thank you for her and the Miller family ’ s support . Nearly four years later , Nellie was present at the ribbon cutting to celebrate the journey with Gail .
