September 24, 2019: Members of management participated in the Salt Lake Chamber’s annual trip to Washington, D.C., joined by other Utah leaders to discuss priorities with Utah’s Federal Delegation. October 1, 2019: Vivint Smart Home Arena will be transitioning by the spring of 2020 to a cash- free environment for food and beverage purchases to speed up concession lines. October 2, 2019: After receiving encouragement from business and community leaders to enter Utah’s gubernatorial race, Greg Miller publicly announced that he had decided not to run for governor in the 2020 election. October 4, 2019: Jim Olson, 25-year employee, was selected as president of LHM Sports & Entertainment and president of the Utah Jazz. October 17, 2019: The Utah Jazz and Mountain America Credit Union will partner again on the Pass It Along program for the seventh year, awarding $5,000 to five diff erent charities selected from nominations made by Jazz fans. ARTICLES VIDEO PHOTOS October 19, 2019: Utah Jazz fans had a first look at the new Classic Edition court at Vivint Smart Home Arena and the opportunity to take their photograph on the floor at a free Purple Mountain Party that celebrated the team’s successes in the ’90s. October 22, 2019: Bryant Henrie, president of Prestige Financial Services (PFS), will be retiring in March 2020 after 32 years with the Miller companies. Dave Smith, COO for Miller Management Corporation, will serve as interim president of PFS. Look for these icons for more content in the mobile/digital issue: www.LHMWSM.com On the cover: At the recent Service Awards banquet in Arizona, employee Wade Prosise was honored for his service to not just a single dealership but all of the dealerships that he works with, running parts from place to place. 2 October 18, 2019: The Utah Jazz and Nike partnered to launch Game Growers, a new program that invites eighth grade girls across the country to work in pairs to develop ideas and collaborate with participating WNBA and NBA teams to inspire more girls to play and love sports. LHM Winning Spirit November/December 2019 Powered by October 22, 2019: Utah Jazz Head Coach Quin Snyder agreed to a contract extension. The Jazz hired Snyder in the summer of 2014, during the start of a rebuilding eff ort. He finished as the runner-up in the 2018 NBA Coach of the Year voting. October 23, 2019: Salt Lake City has been selected to host NBA All-Star Weekend 2023. The 72nd NBA All-Star Game will take place at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, marking the 30th anniversary of the 1993 NBA All- Star Game played in Salt Lake City. October 28, 2019: John Kimball was announced as the new president of Vivint Smart Home Arena and ongoing managing director of the Tour of Utah. October 30, 2019: On the first of two 5 For The Fight nights this season, Jazz fans lit up Vivint Smart Home Arena to show how they have been personally impacted by cancer. At the third quarter break following the on-court introductions of five cancer fighters, the crowd illuminated the darkened arena with the light on their phones. Fans were encouraged to share their photo on social media using the hashtag #5ForTheFight. November 1, 2019: BJ Vander Linden was promoted to CIO for Miller Management Corporation and became a member of the executive leadership team. Prior to his appointment, he was serving as CIO of LHM Sports & Entertainment. Aaron Cook is now serving as the senior vice president of technology and data at LHM Sports & Entertainment. November 18: Myra “Yadi” Marin joined the Miller Automotive Operations team as the regional HR generalist for the Arizona and California markets. She will support stores with employment law matters, benefits education, and talent management.
