The Jesse Tree of Idaho is an organization that provides a safety net for low-income families at the brink of homelessness. “Give Us Five” dollars from employees in Idaho made a big difference for them. Your “Give Us Five” Donations at Work A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in September and October Larry H. Miller Charities benefits 501(c) (3) nonprofit programs that assist women and children in the areas of health and education, and helps those who live in the communities where we work. In Arizona, funding is assisting homeless youth (Youth On Their Own) and children in crisis are receiving pajamas (Angel Heart Pajama Project). At-risk youth are learning life skills by interacting with horses (Rider’s Ranch), and children who are seriously ill are gaining strength by documenting their journey (Beads of Courage). Donations granted in Colorado are helping needy families at Christmas (Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment), and pregnant teens are learning to become self-sufficient (Hope House of Colorado). Kids aging out of foster care are receiving assistance (America’s Kids Belong – Colorado), and hungry students are obtaining food for weekends (Jeffco Eats). Funding is also helping low-income families gain access to better paying jobs (Emergency Family Assistance Association). Through Give Us Five donations, underserved children in Idaho are receiving beds (Sleep In Heavenly Peace). New Mexico families experiencing food insecurity are being helped (PB&J Family Services), and women in crisis are benefiting from financial literacy classes. (Steelbridge Ministries). Funding granted in Spokane, Washington, is providing hygiene and beauty items to women in need (Project Beauty Share), and hungry families are receiving food (Second Harvest Inland Northwest). Low-income children and families are attending the Mobius Children’s Museum. Families with children and young adults are experiencing emotional growth and healing in an equine-assisted program (Second Hand Ranch). Utah donations are helping dyslexic students (Decoding Dyslexia), assisting children who have been abused (Friends of the S.L. Co. Children’s Justice Center), and providing specialized forensic nurse services to women who have been sexually assaulted (Safe Harbor). Grants to Kony Coins for Kids, Bear Hugs for Kids, and 14 school districts along the Wasatch Front are delivering the joy of Christmas to children in need. The holidays are a great time to think of those who are less fortunate. Any funding employees donate to Larry H. Miller Charities is matched by Gail Miller, doubling its impact.
