employee training takes
the center stage
“Our job is to make
sure that employees
know how to perform
their job with formal
training at least two
percent of the time.”
Leslie Lovallo promotes company
growth and development through
coaching and training.
Since Larry Miller’s declaration about the importance of
training in 2003, the LHM Group has established several
training programs covering topics such as employee
development, state and federal compliance, guest services
and customer relations and leadership.
Miller Sports Properties President, Steve Miller says,
“Employees are one of our most important resources and the
lifeblood of our organization. They are an extension of us,
the Miller family, and need to know how important they are
to our organization and
what we do. Without
this understanding, it is
impossible for them to
treat our customers the
way we want and need
for them to be treated.
This is especially true at
Miller Sports Properties
where everything we

do revolves around the
fan experience. Whether
it’s at a Jazz game at the Arena, a concessions stand at a
Bees game, a corner worker at Miller Motorsports Park or a
flagger at the Tour of Utah, every employee that interacts
with a customer needs to be well-versed in how to make
the guest experience the best it can be. This can only come
through training and clearly explaining what our vision is and
expectations are. It’s what allows us to stay in business.”

Miller Automotive Operations
In the past year alone, Miller Automotive Operations (MAO)
has increased training capacity more than fourfold. According
to MAO President, Dean Fitzpatrick, “This is a substantial
commitment on the part of the Miller family in terms of the
investment of additional resources, but they truly believe that
employees with proper training lead to less turn over, a better
work experience and job satisfaction, as well as improved
customer service.”
"A lot of effort has been put into the program
and I believe the results show through a
variety of different indicators including
a measurable increase in sales."
It would be difficult to name everyone who contributes to
training efforts, but the following profiles show why we invest
in training and how well-trained employees contribute to the
success of our company.
