TDR employees present a donation to Portable Practical Educational Preparation, AZ. ARIZONA CALIFORNIA Your Give Us Five Dollars at Work A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in Arizona and California The Larry H. Miller (LHM) Group of Companies focuses on enriching lives, and LHM Charities helps us achieve this mission by supporting nonprofits that assist women and children. Funding stays in the state where it is contributed and is directed toward programs that address the issues of health and education. Employees in California supported local education through an LHM Charities donation to the Corona Norco Schools Education Foundation. Funding is providing grants in the areas of academic intervention, STEM and technology upgrades, and after-school enrichment programs in arts, music, and science. A donation was also provided to the Corona chapter of Blue Star Mothers, a nonprofit group of local women who are mothers of children who have served in the military. The women work together to provide care packages to deployed troops. Service members often tell Blue Star Mothers that the packages help them feel their country has not forgotten them. In Arizona, Tucson employees provided a donation from LHM Charities to Portable Practical Educational Preparation (PPEP) for its Youth Build program. The program serves youth ages 16–24 who have dropped out of school but are still eligible to earn a diploma. Youth are given the means to earn a high school diploma through on-line school. PPEP TEC High School specializes in serving at-risk youth, and PPEP programs address multiple issues, such as gang and domestic violence, drug and alcohol counseling, leadership and community development, and career pathways. You can enrich lives in your local community by making monthly contributions to Larry H. Miller Charities through the Give Us 5 payroll deduction program. Any amount is welcome, and Gail Miller supports these efforts by matching employee donations dollar-per-dollar. Contact your payroll or human resources administrator to learn how you can sign up.
