we also learned more about th respective jobs and responsibili and how they are making difference for our company. BY GAIL MILLER Larry understood the importance of giving back to the communities where we live, work and play. We usually think of “giving” as donating money to individuals or charities to assist with their needs. While this is true, “giving” also means providing time to help and serve others. In fact, giving of our time, in most cases, can be more rewarding and provide a longer-lasting benefit than giving someone a few dollars. When we render service, like we do on the Larry H. Miller Day of Service, many wonderful things happen. We were also able to ma an impact by having 20, or 200 people converge on single project. Then, when stepped back and saw what w accomplished, we could see difference we had made, bo physically as well as in the lives those we served. By working and provid community service, we enr our lives and the lives of othe Our service also shows t we have a common goal a common bond in our workpla and in our community. Becau we understand that we are al the same heart; we are unit making a difference. I want to thank you participating in the Larry H. Mi Day of Service. It means a lot me personally and a lot to Mahatma Gandhi said, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” When we take time and do service in our community, we forget ourselves, and our hearts and thoughts are turned to serving others. As a group of employees, we were able to work together —to shovel, paint, clean, sweep, read to, sing to, feed and serve others. Along the way, we built a better camaraderie with each other. We met fellow employees that we didn’t know; family. I know that Larry wo be proud to see the differen we make when we are united i good cause. WS
