Gail Miller Honored by Multiple Organizations
Contributions to Industry and Community Recognized
As the owner and chairperson of any successful business , being in the public eye is part of the job description . During the past few months , Gail Miller was spotlighted not only for the company she represents but also for her contributions to the industry and the community at large . On January 12 , 2018 , Gail was inducted into the New Car Dealers of Utah Hall of Fame in a ceremony held at the Utah International Auto Expo . She is the 65th person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame and joins her late husband , Larry H . Miller , who was inducted previously .
“ The group is made up of icons who have made significant contributions not only to the automotive industry but to the general good of the state of Utah and Utah communities ,” said Craig Bickmore , executive director , New Car Dealers of Utah , who presented Gail with the award .
“ I knew there was something special about business — something special about being able to provide jobs for people who needed jobs … I ’ m so grateful I made that choice , and I ’ m grateful to my children for helping me carry that on .”

Just a few days later , on January 15 , Gail was the recipient of the Rosa Parks Award during the 34th Annual Dr . Martin Luther King Jr . Luncheon on MLK Day at the Little America Hotel . At least 500 people were in attendance for the event , hosted by the NAACP Salt Lake Branch .
“ I remember being a young girl and being impressed by Rosa Parks and her courage ,” Gail told the room . “ As I thought about her , and about this award , there were two words that came to my mind and they are : ‘ I can .’
“ I think all of us can ,” she added . “ It ’ s important that we keep those words in our vocabulary daily and remember that they ’ re just small words but they can make a huge difference in our lives and in the lives of all of those around us that we interact with .”
On February 6 , Gail was joined by many of Utah ’ s elected and business leaders as she received a leadership award from the Utah chapter of Junior Achievement .
Of the 40 recipients to receive the honor since 1991 , Gail is only the third woman to be inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame .
“ I knew there was something special about business — something special about being able to provide jobs for people who needed jobs — and especially jobs where one of the parents could stay home and raise their children and make a difference in our society . I ’ m so grateful I made that choice , and I ’ m grateful to my children for helping me carry that on ,” Miller declared . ◆
