2017 Service Awards

Recognizing Employment Milestones

Larry H. Miller bought his first dealership in 1979, and since that time, there have been so many acquisitions, new businesses, and changes that it’ s hard to keep track of them all. In that time, many employees have come and gone, while some have stayed. At the 2017 service awards, Clark Whitworth and other Group leaders honored employees who have been with the company for at least ten years, including a few who have reached the 35-year mark, and several who have been with the Group for 30 years, meaning that they have been part of the LHM Group almost since the beginning.

It is a testament to Larry and Gail Miller’ s vision of being the“ best place in town to work” that so many employees have not only wanted to work for the Group, but have also stayed with the Group for so long. Those who reach the 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35-year mark are honored at a special banquet, held at various locations throughout the country in order to honor those who work in states outside of Utah. At this year’ s Service Awards, we honored more than 300 people who reached significant employment milestones, including two who hit their 35-year mark.
Each of these banquets is a chance for company leadership to meet with these long-term employees and to hear stories and experiences that might not otherwise make it to them. This valuable exchange helps everyone throughout the company to learn from each other and to understand and appreciate everyone’ s various roles. ◆
