Your“ Give Us Five” Donations at Work

A Glance at LHM Charities at Work in December

As we consider the many ways the LHM Group and its employees have reached out and improved local communities in 2017, we can see our mission’ s directive to“ enrich the lives of others” being fulfilled.

In addition to the 10 Days of Giving campaign in Phoenix and Five Days of Giving in Colorado, your Give Us Five dollars were also at work in other ways. Here are a few highlights from December.
The Salvation Army in Boise, Idaho, received funding for support services that help pregnant teens graduate from high school. In Spokane, Washington, a grant to Because There Is Hope assisted with lodging for women who are being treated for cancer. A donation to Albuquerque Speech Language and Hearing Center in New Mexico went toward treatment for underinsured, low-income children who have language or speech impairments.
Angels of America’ s Fallen( Colorado Springs) assists kids who have a parent that died as a first responder or while serving in the military. A grant from LHM Charities funded the cost of extracurricular activities these children wish to participate in. A donation to the Colorado National Guard Foundation offered support to families of service members who were struggling financially during the holidays. In Tucson, Arizona, a contribution to TOPS provided portable cribs and baby carriers to pregnant and parenting teens.
Donations made in Utah helped the Lantern House provide services to homeless families and have enabled Prevent Child Abuse Utah to continue offering child abuse prevention education to students, parents, educators, and community members in rural areas. Funding granted to the Assistance League of Southern Utah went toward Operation School Bell, which provides school clothing to children in need.
The start of a new year is a wonderful time to make positive changes. We’ re inviting employees to donate $ 5 a month to LHM Charities( though you can give more or less) through the Give Us Five payroll deduction program. However much you contribute will be matched by Gail Miller, and funds will then be distributed by local employee committees to charities that help women and children in the communities where we work. Talk to your human resources or payroll administrator for more information. ◆
