Buzz Waterhouse was most recently the CEO of McGraw-Hill Education, one of
the world’s largest learning solutions companies. He has been a strong proponent
of re-imagining learning, leveraging his deep experience in technology with his
love for education. These efforts resulted in the transformation of McGraw into
the leader in outcomes-based, digital learning solutions. Buzz was responsible for
the separation of McGraw-Hill Education from McGraw-Hill Financial, standing up
the company and its subsequent sale to Apollo Global Management.
Buzz was also the CEO of Harcourt Education, a provider of instructional
materials, e-learning and testing services for the global education market. Under
Buzz’s leadership, the company underwent a major transformation and was later
sold in a $5 billion transaction.
Prior to Harcourt, Buzz was CEO and chairman of The Reynolds & Reynolds
Company, the leading provider of automotive retailing solutions. While in Dayton,
Buzz started the I-Zone, co-founded the Entrepreneur’s Fund, served as the first chairperson of the Wright Center for
Innovation, and founded Mound Street Academies, a highly successful school for at-risk students.
Before Reynolds, Buzz spent 26 years at IBM. He led IBM’s e-business organization, launched IBM Global Services, and
was president of Asia Pacific Services Corporation.
