BEES PLAYERS GET THEIR SWING AT THE MAJORS
As the Salt Lake Bees closed their season on September 1,
2014, the Los Angeles Angels expanded their roster by calling
up 11 players from the Bees to the Major Leagues. The Angels
recalled pitchers Cam Bedrosian, Vinnie Pestano and Cory
Rasmus, outfielders Brennan Boesch and Tony Campana and
infielders C.J. Cron, Luis Jimenez, Shawn O’Malley and Efren
Navarro. In addition, the team selected the contracts of Bees
pitcher Wade LeBlanc and Utah-native catcher John Buck
and added them to the active roster.
To date, 29 different players have played for both the Angels
and the Bees in 2014 including Josh Hamilton, David Freese,
Kole Calhoun, Grant Green, Mike Morin, Matt Shoemaker and
Hector Santiago. In May, the two clubs renewed their player
development contract to keep Salt Lake as the Triple-A
affiliate of the Angels through 2016.
With a .332 batting average for the 2014 season,
Salt Lake Bees outfielder Brennan Boesch claimed the
title of Pacific Coast League Batting Champion.
HEATHER BEE is an accounting
manager for Miller Family Real Estate
and has been with the Group and
in this position for over four years.
Heather currently makes her home in
West Valley City, Utah.
SCOTT SPONGBERG works as a
broadcast engineer for KJZZ-TV.
He has been with the Group and in
this position since 2012 and previously
worked as a freelance camera
operator. Scott lives in Sandy, Utah.
JAYMI HAMPTON is a collections
department trainer at Prestige
Financial. She has worked in this
capacity for the past five years. She
makes her home in Sugarhouse, Utah
with her nine-year-old daughter.
SHAUN POPE works as a finance
director for Larry H. Miller Chrysler
Jeep Dodge Ram Bountiful and has
been with the dealership for seven
years. He and his wife live in Centerville,
Utah with their two children.
