Trent Ballard, Operations Supervisor, attended the AAAE Snow
Academy in July, and learned about the success other Airports had
using these additional attachments during a snow/ice event. The
snow blower will allow us to blow the accumulation roughly 100
feet into the islands, where they can melt without worry about
refreezing as it will be off the pavement. This will help eliminate
“windrows”, the snow and ice piles created on the edges of the
runway and taxiways when using the snow plow to remove accu-
mulation.
Arlington Fire Marshall Announces His Retirement
During the meetings held in the fall, several tenants expressed an interest in discussing the current hangar storage
policies with the Fire Marshall. However, Stephen Lea will be retiring effective December 31st. Once a new Fire
Marshall is selected, a meeting with tenants will be scheduled to discuss the question of hangar storage.
