SIMPSONS’ WINE ESTATE

Located just outside the picturesque cathedral city of Canterbury, Simpsons’ Wine Estate is fast becoming internationally renowned for its award-winning English still and sparkling wines.
Established in 2012 by Ruth and Charles Simpson, who have a wonderful passion for wine and gained their production experience at their domaine in the South of France, Simpsons truly believe that the finest wines convey a rich sense of provenance and integrity, firmly rooted in the characteristics and exquisite nuances of their terroir. This is why they settled for nothing less than the finest parcels of land in southern England to plant their vines.
Simpsons’ Wine Estate can be found amid the pristine beauty of the Elham Valley – an unspoilt chalk seam in the North Downs of Kent, where the contours of the land, climate and soil could scarcely be improved upon for viticulture.
The last decade has seen Simpsons’ Wine Estate go from strength to strength, with the development of their state-of-theart winery and 38 hectares now under vine. Their incredible range of still and sparkling wines have garnered high praise and awards both nationally and internationally at the likes of the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships.
The estate makes the perfect destination to make the‘ grape escape’ from London. With the high-speed train travelling directly from St. Pancras to Canterbury West in under an hour, you can enjoy vineyard vistas and informative and fun tasting experiences alongside so many other exciting elements the area has to offer. And no visit to Simpsons is complete without a trip down their‘ Fruit Chute’ helter-skelter slide, which transcends from their tasting room down to the winery. This is a show-stopping way to exit their tasting events and they are the only winery in the world to have this unique attraction.
The beautiful boutique THE PIG- at Bridge Place hotel is mere minutes down the road from Simpsons, offering decadent overnight stays and delicious seasonal and homegrown produce. Enjoy the rural charm of the glorious Kent countryside or take a short trip to the coast, brimming with amazing restaurants, bars and things to see and do.
