Goupie is a family business which stems from a family recipe for a chocolatebased treat of the same name . Everything is handmade in a small , SALSA-certified unit in Goudhurst by Janet Simpson and her team of artisans . Her daughter , Grace , meanwhile , focuses on selling the product which is vegan friendly , gluten-free and sustainably packaged .
Goupie now directly supply over 100 retailers including : Liberty of London , Booths , The National Trust and many vineyards including Chapel Down , Biddenden and Balfour .

Since its establishment in 2010 , Goupie has won a number of awards , including Great Taste , Sustainable Business ( TOKA ) and Ethical Business ( LWWL ). Goupie is a Living Wage Employer , and committed to doing business without ethical compromise across the whole supply chain . This includes not only their product , but also its packaging which is completely compostable ( aside from the reusable tins , designed to reduce the need for packaging altogether ).
