34COMPBWA MASTERS I love a good collaboration so I decided to get quotes from some of my fellow ‘Masters’ to get a wider impression of what they took away from the event. Steve Laddiman (1st) “Despite challenging conditions, the sun was shining and the turnout was superb. Was super fun on and off the water with folk from up and down the country. Big props to the organisers, all the BWA team, Funsport and all the sponsors. See you all again in Cornwall later in the year!” Kyle McGinn (2nd) "Loved the event, competition pushes your windsurfing in fun ways plus it was a lot of fun catching up with an amazing crowd of people. The organisation and commitment that goes into these BWA events is impressive!" Alan Cockerill (4th) "Great event, well organised and very friendly atmosphere, well worth the effort to get involved!" Ivan Causer (=7th) "Fantastic weekend at Rhossi. Warm, sunny, windy and wavey with great craic on and off the water. Bombed straight out when we eventually got to compete but great fun with Mark taking the heat win from eventual champ Laddiman! Nice work dude! You learn loads watching how the best sailors do things and it really forces you to up your game and try new stuff. Can't wait till next year, hopefully in the conditions they got today and with Laddiman having buggered off to the pro fleet!" John McLawrence (= 7th) “Well organised event at Rhosneigr this year, good turn out. Conditions on the day didn't really suit me, would have been great if the wind was stronger as I am more of a high wind sailor. Hoping for better conditions in Tiree.” Carl Tomlnson (=9th – missed heat!) "After years of putting it off I decided to enter spontaneously the day before the event whilst travelling back from America with work and seeing the Rhosneigr event discussed in Facebook posts. I never realised just how much fun it would be competing in the BWA. It doesn't matter what level you are and even if the conditions aren't that good, it’s a celebration of UK windsurfing and the perfect opportunity for good craic! As they say ‘hindsight is a wonderful thing’ but I wish I'd have entered years ago!” uk WIND SURFING
