To have kids or not?
That is the question
When I was in my 20s, I thought I
wanted what everyone else wanted . . .
to settle into a great job, get married
and start a family.
That was normal right?

Well, the great job did come along
and so did marriage.
Quite often, my wife and I were
asked about parenthood. Our
response was “it happens when it happens.”
Unfortunately, the marriage didn’t
last and we never did have children.
I think somewhere along the way,
maybe because of a painful divorce, I
figured out that kids would never be a
part of my journey.
I simply didn’t want any.
Now as I described above, I didn’t
always know I didn’t want kids and as
