2017 NSSA
INDUSTRY
FORUMS
03
A
series of free industry forums are being run around the country for NSSA members
and potential members in 2017. The format includes an information session followed
by an opportunity to meet with like-minded people from the industry and network
over a few drinks and nibbles. Forums have been run in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne with
over 110 people in attendance. The discussion and feedback from attendees is invaluable.
With the recent changes to the NSSA, the forums are an opportunity to hear about the
NSSA strategic plan to build the association nationally and the benefits your business will
receive as an NSSA member. Each forum also features a Q&A session from Crime Stoppers
Australia. To register your attendance at the remaining forums, visit the NSSA website:

NATIONAL CRIME STOPPERS DAY: MONDAY, 15 MAY 2017
C
rime Stoppers programs around the
country remind all Australians about
the vital role they play in helping to
create safer local communities. In 2016 alone,
over 7000 offenders were arrested because
of community contact with the Crime
Stoppers program in Australia.
As part of the day Crime Stoppers released
a new animated video to inform Australians
about the methods by which they can
contact Crime Stoppers, the fact that Crime
Stoppers is an independent community
organisation working in partnership with
policing and other community agencies, that
you can remain anonymous or confidential
when you contact Crime Stoppers and that
every piece of information can help to solve
and prevent crime.
“We don’t need to know who you are, just
what you know about criminals and their

illegal activities”.
Importantly, Crime Stoppers reminds
everyone that they only gather information
about suspicious or criminal activity. If you
are a victim of a crime or you need the
Police (urgent or not) you should contact the
Police directly, rather than Crime Stoppers.
Your Community. Your Call.
